Stephen R. Donaldson’s “Mordant’s Need” books ( **The Mirror of Her Dreams** and its sequel, **A Man Rides Through** ), would fit the Political Fantasy designation. It’s about a parallel world that uses mirrors as portals between other worlds, but the meat of the story has to do with political intrigue and warfare between kingdoms.
