Politically correct?
FUCK Politically correct!
Sex = penis, vagina, testicles, ovaries
Gender = masculine, feminine, effeminate, heterosexual, camp
Transsexual = Alteration of (e.g.) penis to vagina
Transgender = Change from (e.g.) masculine appearance to feminine
Spangender = partial change from (e.g.) masculine appearance to feminine
Intergender = between the traditionally identified genders (i.e. masculine and feminine)
Intersexual = between the traditionally identified sexes (i.e. male and female)
Differently gendered = doesn’t fit into one of the two traditionally identified genders
NB Male and female fit in gender and sex so I avoided them.
New names are invented as people attempt to define themselves in a way that makes them comfortable. It applies to gender as with skin colour, nationality (Czech or Slovak?).
Consider the gay community which has a lovely acronym - GLBTI or Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgendered, Intersexual - but only works if you happen to like that title. Some prefer Queer (eye for the straight guy). Some like Pink (dollar). To be more accurate the term would be “Not Necessarily Heterosexual”, but who wants to be defined according to someone else’s rules? Not to mention which, it’s pretty gay. Oops, unattractive.
I think that, for me, the only way I can define “gender” as I see it is to say that it’s outside of and different from physiological sex and traditional gender roles, but it’s subjective and something you have an inherent knowledge of (or not, since not everyone seems to) within yourself.
I think attempting to define it further is just asking for a big headache
i was never aware of somebody actually being gendered, not in that way. eeh, im not sure
And defeat of deduct went over defense before detail.
