Not only is that clever - it would totally work! I’ve mentioned many a time that my suspension of disbelief in Harry Potter keeps breaking down because the Muggles have every reason to worry about the sheer amount of horror and chaos the magical world can create that they can’t oversee and have NO power over.
Send in Bond to investigate and clear up some crap? Bond pretending to be a professor at Hogwarts while using Q-tech to “mimic” magical effects? I’d watch that film!
I was kinda thinking the other way around. If James Bond was a wizard it would explain how he knows everything about everything, never loses a bet, and always has the exact gadget he needs for any situation.
I remember reading, years ago, that the Harry Potter movies had passed the Bond movies to be the most lucrative film franchise ever. As they made more Bond movies, I wondered if they’d catch up and move back into the lead. Then the MCU movies came along and blew past them both.
That’s probably what they had in mind, but I think they went sliding past “childlike innocent” and landed squarely on “too stupid to live”.
