I’ll vote for Annette Bening in _The Grifters._ The scene where she offers herself for a motel room, “the Intercourse Commerce Commission” scene, is, well, maybe Warren can give us some input here. ---

That first sex scene between Dennis Quaid and Ellen Barkin in _The Big Easy_ will always be one of my favorites. The sense of anticipation building up between George Clooney and Jennifer Lopez in _Out of Sight_ is good. So is the complete abandon of the scene between Pierce Brosnan and Rene Russo in _The Thomas Crown Affair_. And yeah, the one between Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe in _Cruel Intentions_ is also pretty hot. I think it has to do with how they’re kissing. _Y Tu Mama Tambien_ was just . . . in a class by itself. The sex scenes were great because they were so non-Hollywood. This thread has reminded me . . . I don’t see nearly as many sexy movies as I once did. _sigh_ ---

The part that continues to bother me in the lovemaking scene in ENEMY AT THE GATES, where they’re making love in the siege of Stalingrad, is that it’s pretty explicitly stated that no one in the city has bathed for weeks and weeks. So Jude Law is slammin’ it to Rachel Weisz and all I think is: they both stink! ---
