I started this thread, [Favorite single line from television? - Cafe Society - Straight Dope Message Board](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=782233) , to gather iconic/favorite lines from television and now this is the thread I said I’d make. The lines chosen below were either uttered several times in their series, thus becoming familiar, or, with a single utterance, were classics. I did not include one word exclamations, like “Dy-no-mite!” or “Duh!” Some series had several “classics”, I chose just one per series. I tried to pick lines that even non-fans of a series would recognize for their source. Pick your three favorites, or one’s you consider most iconic. ---

It always amazes me when WKRP’s “Turkeys Away” episode is brought up, that such a memorable moment comes from the show’s 7th episode. How many other American\* shows hit a home run so early in the show’s run? - - I say American shows because so many of BBC series only have a short run of episodes compared to shows in the US ---
