I am SuaSponte, hear me roar!! I’m a goateed gent, and have had a goatee or a full beard on and off for about 12 years now. Generally, the only times I’ve not had facial hair has been when I’ve been involved with a woman who didn’t like it. Unfortunately, this has been the case with 4 of the 5 women with whom I’ve had serious relationships in those 12 years. Am I meeting the wrong wimmin? In order to scientifically determine the fate of my goatee, I ask for responses to two questions. 1. Do you like/dislike/hate beards/goatees? 2. Whether you like them or not, do you find them ticklish/uncomfortable/painful when placed against your sensitive parts? Please explain as you see fit. Bonus points for juicy stories!! Hate 'em. I’d rather see your purty face. My Honey does have a moustache, which does have a tendency to tickle my nose, but doesn’t seem to bother anything else. The only thing really objectionable is stubble - he’s got a tough beard, and it can be really abrasive. I’ve gotten used to his moustache, but in general, I don’t like them. Especially goatees - they look sorta sneaky/slinky/cheap-thug-ish. ---

I’m interested in hearing about this also, since I’m going to stop shaving for awhile in… 152 days 😃 and see if I can’t just cover up this ugly mug of mine. It shouldn’t be too hard, I guess, since I usually have to shave twice a day to keep it tamed. -dook ---

I have a beard and moustache, which my wife requested. My mother hates it, but when I shaved it all off one of my co-workers called my wife up to get her to make me grow it back. As for tickling, etc.: Now that you can get my real name I’m not saying nothing about certain subjects! ---

When my husband and I started dating, I made him stop shaving all but his mustache. He had terrible shaving-aggravated acne so bad that the skin itself appeard to be infected. Since his upper lip was not so affected that i did not care about that. He shaves there because his mustache is rather blond and looks patchy. I like his beard to be trimmed neatly. He cuts it to about .25 inches every week. Just long enough that it is not prickly to the touch. I ask that he shave his upper lip if he wants to kiss me anywhere that day. It is like sandpaper otherwise. I generally like to looks of clean shaven guys best, but a neat beard beats a red, oozing, zit filled clean shave face any day. Also “if you can’t grow a chin, grow a beard.” is usually good advice on appearance. As far as what is good for sex, stubble is bad. Whiskers that are very short and stiff scratch. The beard feels good. ---

I will always turn my head for a better look at a man with shaved head and nicely trimmed beard/mustache. Funny, it is only the face that can be hairy; I hate hairy chests and shoulders which hide the muscle tone underneath. Beard stubble is not a problem; it can be erotic. Do pussy ticklers work? It all depends upon the man using his tools to the best of his advantage, ie: being considerate, taking his time to build up the passions thru foreplay, finding the rhythm, pressure and balance…hmmmm. Slim hips big shoulders and rockhard chest with no hair trimmed beard and mustache shaved head… muscles pumped, hot and sweaty… swooon and thump. I guess I am getting silly; but it is only fourteen more days until my husband returns for three weeks, then he’s off again. ---

Well-trimmed beards (no ZZ Top wannabes) and 'staches are fine, but those little goatees are something else. **sua sponte** – no offense, but a really nice-looking good goatee is hard to achieve. I trust you’ve succeeded with yours, but most of the ones I’ve seen just remind me of – geez, I can hardly bear to say it – something women have that men don’t. Damn, it’s awkward to be from my generation! Why can’t I just say **pussy** and get it over with!! ---

Like goatees, bf grows one during playoffs we call him “the evil bf” (like the evil Spock) or “the green lantern”. Kinda tickles, 'specially sensitive spots like necks and thighs. Dated a guy for a time who had full beard, don’t mind as long as it’s kept neatly trimmed. I have always liked that dark, intense look though, maybe that’s it. ---

Kelli - My friends and I thought Edward Norton was really hot in American History X, except for the whole skinhead, nazi racism thing. so basicaly if you could completly overhaul his entire attitude and personality he was good looking. ---

I don’t like facial hair. Beards hide the face and mustaches creep me out. I do like a goatee if it’s trimmed well, though. As for how it feels in the thighs, I wouldn’t know as I don’t usually go out with men with facial hair (I hope-hope-hope I didn’t offend anyone with beards and mustaches!). ---

I love moustaches. I love goatees. Yum! I love the current fashion for goatees, especially the wicked pointy ones! I like beards - that’s actually a change from when I was young, I didn’t like them then. As far as how it feels, its been 13 or 14 years since I had a lover with a moustache (ex-husband wouldn’t grow one ☹ ) and 16 or 17 years since I had a lover with a beard, so I just don’t remember at all. BTW, I’m 38 - don’t know if that makes a difference. ---

Hmmmm… Interesting query, SuaSponte. Until mid-May of this year, I would have answered that I love 'staches but hate any other facial hair. My hubby has had a 'stache since he was about 16, except for the time he first went into the Air Force. He came home from UAE with a Van Dyke. I promised to give it a try, and withhold judgement for a few days. I have discovered that his goatee is quite soft, and it tickles a little, in a good way. Let’s just say it ‘grew’ on me. 😉 He still has his Van Dyke. 😃 Oh, and let me echo what Power 'Cellist says: Beard burn is NO FUN. Stubble is OUT. ☹ ---

Man, this has been more fun than I expected!
