Poll for people who wash their hands after using the bathroom. (Please read before voting.)

Confession: There are times when I don’t wash my hands after peeing (I ALWAYS do after pooping). If I stagger into the bathroom bleary-eyed in the middle of the night and make sure to use enough TP that there is no moisture seep-through, sometimes I will go back to bed without washing my hands. However, this is because I have a really hard time sleeping and the extra activity might wake me up enough that I can’t get back to sleep. Also, the first thing I do in the morning is wash my hands, generally speaking. I just like to start the day with that clean hand feeling.

Oh, sorry! :smack:

Same here. I’m a chemist. Yes, I wear gloves, but nitrile is not impervious (dichloromethane anyone?) and I don’t want anything down there that might lead to flesh-pealing or the cancer.

I admit to some germophobia. I wash my hands after every bathroom trip, and I resent (and take careful note of, for permanent record marking) the people who don’t.

But for me it’s not about coliforma-whatever, it’s about the fact that I work in an office where people bring their colds and flus to work all the time. Many of them don’t wash their hands, and some of them even pee/poop, wash their hands, and then blow their noses right there while looking themselves over in the mirror.

So yeah, I try to remember not to touch my eyes or nose during the day, but I also use a hand towel to open the bathroom door. And I can honestly say that since this germo-paranoia caught up with me, I’ve had fewer colds and (even better) fewer flus.

Funny side note:

There’s a great sidebar on that page: “Marijuana May Impair Thinking While Relieving Other MS Symptoms” What - really???

Wait, what?

What definition of “wash” are we using here?

I answered: I am a man and I never wash my hands after peeing. What possible second option from among those you provided did you have in mind that I should consider checking?
