Poll: for Smokers who have Successfully Become Non Smokers, How Did You Do It?

Nicotine patches, here. They worked so well, I did not buy the box of patches for the final week of the suggested program.

I used the store brand patches and I found that each week one of the three chain pharmacies had their own brand discounted, so each week I bought the patches from the store that had them on sale.

I have not smoked a single cigarette in eight years now.

Congrats on thinking of giving up. May I make a couple of suggestions.

1 Tell as many people as you can that you have given up smoking for good.

2 Abstain from Bars and drinking for the first month if you can.

  1. Carry a packet of peppermints in your pocket and when you start looking in your pockets or purse for the solace of the cigarettes packet, take a peppermint instead, but limit your sugar intake.
