For work, argyles all the way. After the tie, the sock is one place where a man can add some dazzle and a spash of color to his otherwise dull, monochromatic wardrobe. Problem is, they seem to be disappearing from local stores in favor of the ugly gray/black/navy polyester man-stocking that stretches all the way up to your knee and leaves itchy sock lines at the end of the day. ---

Many colours, many patterns. I’ve often been complimented on my stripey rainbow socks. The rest of my wardrobe is pretty staid, so why not have exciting socks? A friend will only wears brown socks with some sort of pattern on them. I call such socks “Ruth socks” and buy and send them to her whenever I see them. It’s a thing we do. 🙂 ---

Not at home, so writing from memory. Black, navy, three different shades of brown, burgundy, white (ankle socks). Also yellow (with a Hello Kitty-like bunny) and light blue with yellow polka dots, but I got these “thrown in” when I bought some jammies from an old classmate and only use them when they won’t be seen. Oh, I’m female, so the yellow ones are horrible but won’t get me arrested 😃 **snipe** (I think I got that right), have you tried pairing them before you put them in the drawer? When they come out of the dryer or in from the clothesline, find the matching pairs. Lie a pair flat on your forearm, one sock on top of the other, grabbing the “toes”. Fold the whole pair at the heel. If the leg part is too long, fold it again. Then turn the one whose “mouth” is left outside after all the folding inside out until it has the rest of the bundle inside. It’s less complicated than it sounds and personally I hate having to look for stuff when I’m in a hurry. ---

Mmmm, I loves me some wacky-assed socks! Any color, any number of toes, any print! There is only one requirement: they MUST be soft. Scratchy, stiff, tight or tedious socks need not apply. Otherwise, I think everyone should have an exciting sox life! ---
