Consider this to be an itch I just have to scratch. I pretty much know how this is going to go over, but I’m still curious: How many people carry a concealed weapon, are licensed to carry a concealed weapon, or think that such a thing is beyond the pale. Remember, people, this is NOT a debate. It is merely a poll, an unscientific poll at that. If you wish to explain yourself, please do. But no matter what your explanation is, I will not criticize it nor will I attempt to argue with you. Hopefully you will respect my wishes and do the same. Thank you. ---

I’m licensed to carry, but I generally don’t carry unless I’ll be working late or such. I keep meaning to look into something a little smaller that I can pocket carry. If I find something I like, then I might carry a lot more frequently. Carry piece is a Sig P229 in 9mm. ---

No, I don’t nor am I licensed to do so. I would probably think less of a person who did without a sensible reason (as I find it needlessly antagonistic and indicative of a low sense of self-esteem/self-efficacy). A generalized mistrust of the world is not a sensible reason in my view. ---

I carried and have a CCW license, but I don’t carry anymore because I’m no longer working delivering medications. The license expires in 2011 and when it does, I’ll probably just let it go. ---

do knives count? I carried at least a jackknife with a razor sharp blade and sometimes a gerber with a lockblade. I quit doing both after getting nailed at airport security a couple of times. If I move back to the US and not doing high travel, first thing I’ll do is pick up a blade. Never owned a gun and no desire for ccw. ---

Why not try out the poll function? I don’t but don’t have much of a problem with it. I work on a college campus and it is illegal to carry there in this state. I’m not too interested in answering questions about that right now, either. ---

Same as **firstname** - concealed carry is illegal in Canada. ---

I have a permit, but I don’t usually carry. I do keep a pistol (and a holster) in my truck. ---

My husband has a permit, and carries one when neccesary. Often he will have one in the vehicle when we go on long trips. ---

I have the license, but have never carried concealed. (Unless you count putting an unloaded pistol in my backpack so I could take it to a shop for repair.) I’ve no reason to carry. ---

I live in New Jersey, ergo I don’t have a concealed carry license recognized by this state, and am not willing to apply for one here because then I’d have to explain that “Have you ever been denied a license in another state” question next time I move.
