I felt like an absolute baby at 22: so many people here were in their late 20s and early 30s. Now I’m 47. It blows my mind how consistent this place has been part of my routine the last 25 years. ---

I was going to start a geezerific Have You Heard Of This Once-Common Thing, Whippersnapper? poll (what’s a record player, why does the phone call icon look like that, etc.) for people under 30 until I suddenly realized there were virtually none here. There is enough of a critical mass of music at my fingertips that I could probably live the rest of my life exploring existing music without ever getting past 1999. Why would I need new new music when there’s plenty of new old music out there? ---
