I voted for the far side facing away from earth (and go with “dark” as in unknown to us) but only because “insane” wasn’t an option given - which is derivative of its use by Floyd but not the same as.
I voted for the side facing away from the Earth, though I am also familiar with the Pink Floyd album. Actually what came to mind were lyrics to the Three Doors Down song Kryptonite, though I don’t know why I thought of that…I don’t think I heard the song recently!
