I’m with panache. But seriously. Just because the french don’t agree with us, we’re gunna get pissy at them? Isn’t that kinda counter-productive to “The Democratic Way”? Aren’t we allowed to agree to disagree, even on important topics? Just pointing it out. ---

My fav is from Roll Call this morning…“Seldom if ever flippant, Speaker Dennis Hastert (R-Ill.) has spent the past month railing against the French, pointedly suggesting several times that he is considering offering a bill that would require orange labels on French wine as a warning that it may have been refined with bovine blood.” Too bad it was rare to begin with, it’s illegal now, and Chile used to do it too…so if we have it only on French bottles we may as well label our own with “Product of temper-tantrum prone nation.” Sigh, that said, how about “the Amerikiss”? ---

I think we should take the opportunity to kiss up to the British and use their word “snog.” (Ob disclaimer: I do not advocate actually removing the word “French” from popular phrases.) ---

If its done without a cigar I guess you could call it a clinton kiss. tongue swappping has a nice ring to it, but i prefer some tongue action. if you want to be sappy you can call it a lovers kiss or deep kissing. Amerikiss sounds more like a kiss on the cheek and cop a feel. wait… its coming back to me… a long forgotten term from way in the past… **Soul Kissing!!** ---

Well, to be fair, the French really have a much stronger claim on french kissing than we do. Therefore, people who are pissed at the French should simply stop french kissing altogether and instead stick to the good old-fashioned close-mouthed kissing favored by our Puritan ancestors. The same thing goes for menage-a-trois. ---

[PS proto-rant thinly described as suggestion] The “I’m english and way hate the french for 100s of years before America was founded, and _I_ think this is overeacting; a country can seriously disagree with you and still kiss. Comparing france to Nazi germany is seriously over-reacting. The fact that I think french kiss is a stupid name has nothing to do with it is irrelevnt, and if I have anything more to say we’ll move to the pit thread, or at least the sarcastic thread” kiss?
