Girl named Mary Ann in my 1rst or maybe 2nd grade class. I really want to say 1rst, but curse my rotten memory, I’m no longer 100% sure - those two years blur together a bit for me. I was a 1rst ( or 2nd ) grade boy. It was mostly quiet worship from afar. I shyly asked her to my birthday and I remember her parents supposedly nixing the idea ( conservative upbringing? ), but got me the most fanciest gift I received that year as a consolation. ---

I was in kindergarten and she was the second grade teacher. She was beautiful and smart and played the piano and had amazing hands. I loved her with a really embarrassing puppy love. I courted her son (he was in second grade and this was cause for concern from the adults who didn’t realize at first I was the one chasing him, not the other way around - once they figured that part out they thought I was cute) because then I could hang out around her in her classroom after school until my mom came and got me. He was sweet (willing to be friendly to a kindergartener AND a girl), but the crush was definitely on her. ---

Hetero guy here. I was in maybe the 2nd grade and she was a teen or early 20s day-camp counselor in Troy NY. Her name, I’m pretty sure, was Suzy Davis. This was in the late 1960s so Suzie, if, God-willing, is still around, then she’d be in her late 60s / early 70s. And I bet dollars to donuts that she’s still very cute! 🙂 Are you out there, Suzie Davis from in/near Troy NY? You know, I don’t remember what she looked like then. But to my memory from me-at-8-years-old, she was a real cutie. And I certainly had a crush on her. ---

Englebert Humperdinck. In the real world, Andy V. in first grade; he was the cutest thing. Then his parents moved him and his snooty sister back to U.K. for a couple of years. He did not age well. As to the whole hetero girls having crushes on females, that is pretty surprising to me. Makes me wonder if we’re all in agreement about the definition of the word crush. ---

I’m a bi female and picked male because he ended up being my first kiss, but there was also a girl around the same time when I was in first or second grade. I don’t remember which one I had a crush on first, though I do remember feeling like I wasn’t supposed to like the girl. ---

I can remember having something akin to a crush on a female classmate in grade school, but it was more that I wanted her to be my sister because all my sisters were way older and I wanted one my own age. My first “in love” crush was a boy in 6 or 7th grade. He had a mullet that was spiked on top and shaved in stripes on the side and I just worshipped the ground he walked on. Hey, it was 1980something. 😃 ---

To me, crush implies feelings of romantic or sexual attraction. I could easily have said when I was a kid that I loved my girl friends but I don’t relate to the idea of ever having a crush on any of them. ---

I’m hetero-male, and my first crush was female. In kindergarten, no less. I was a bit precocious in that. Of course, I didn’t actually date until far later than my peers did. So I didn’t keep it up. ---

I had some really intense friendships with other girls, usually one at a time. I sure wouldn’t call them a crush. I do remember though that we used to kiss. Because what if a boy kissed us and we didn’t know how to do it, right? We had to practice. I guess we could have practiced on boys. Let’s face it, they needed the practice, too. ---

Bi-female. My first crush was male and ended up being gay lol I was too young and innocent to the ways of the world to realize this at the time. I didn’t have another crush for about 10 year. That was on a lesbian but she turned me down. Then no other crushes for about ten more years and another female and another rejection lol So I just give up.
