No, it’s a simple statement of what the Right has _always_ wanted. A major reason why we are in our present situation is that so many people have tried so hard to deny that. To pretend that they are well meaning, reasonable people we can “compromise” and be “bipartisan” with. And again and again they’ve taken advantage of that delusion to gain more power and hurt people, because _that_ is what they care about. They want a “[Day of the Rope](https://www.adl.org/resources/hate-symbol/day-rope)” where they can kill us all. ---

It’s ten years later and Trump hasn’t done any of those things. So why should we believe these people when they make the same claims in 2026? ---

I was promised by several posters that, by this point, being LGBTQ would be illegal in all 50 states, we’d be nuking Africa, the armed conquest of Canada would be complete, there would be mass public executions of Democratic politicians, and this board would have been shut down and we’d all be in labor camps. ---
