I’m just curious. Makes me chuckle on occasion when someone refers to a post “way back on page 3” when I’m still reading their post on my page 1. So, poll to follow. What setting do you use for your number of posts visible per page? ---

Isn’t the default 50? That’s what mine is defaulted to, and you have no poll option for that. ---

I went and looked at the Thread Display options in my user settings to come up with the numbers. 50 makes sense to me, but it didn’t show up in the drop-down list I had. I just went to double-check that. ---

1. I don’t understand anyone who uses anything less than the maximum number of allowable posts. (It is dangerous though. I read the entirety of threads a lot more when I think of them as being 3 pages rather than 12.) ---

I have mine set to ‘Use forum default’ which appears to be 50 in IMHO. I’ve never thought of a good reason to change it (maybe if used my mobile to access the sdmb I would). ---

I had it at the default until the most recent Mafia game over here, when I cranked it all the way up to make it easier to look back over the thread’s history for the purpose of _j’accuse!!!_'ing people. Never set it back. ---

The default is 50, and I think most posters leave it that way. That makes the poll unlikely to reflect anything like reality. Mine is set at 200. ---

I have 20, because the “go to first new post” thing NEVER works for me, but I can tell what page I last read by the color of the link. If I had 200 posts per page it would be a nightmare trying to find where I left off on a particular page. With 20 it’s not that bad. ---

100 I set it that way some time back, to make it easier when I’m playing Mafia. Now, it’s a trivial matter when I need to figure out which page post 347 was on. ---
