Coke-- less sweet, less irritating marketing (relative) Barack-- I perceive as slightly more lefty LA-- I’m a west coast gal. New York is too intense for me. Rome-- longer interesting history. Marx. Relative perceived ridiculousness Kitty Carlisle-- more arty and interesting Mac-- habit. This close to running off to UNIX or a stick in the sand. Islam. Less impact directly on my life. Something I know less about but am still intrigued by, in terms of culture and history Homer Simpson. Homer’s at least funny. Hank is a humorless prig. Electric blue and black-- milder on the eyes Elton John. At least he’s interesting. A bit bent. Jimmy Hendrickx. See above. Also preferable since he had the good taste to die before he got annoying. Heinz/Hunts? No preference-- don’t like children’s condiments. If I have to choose, whichever is more spicy and less sweet Rather OWN a Bentley. Silver ghost is a tad too eccentric and flashy Gustav. Handsome guy-- very imperious. Not overexposed on my continent. Charlotte, although I have not been there. The architecture interests me and I like smaller cities. Birthday party. Don’t like babies much. Like booze and ice cream a lot. Cat. Just not a dog person. Pecs. Weenies are just not that attractive–a bit too blunt. 1. I’ll say that at least Marx’s rhetoric is better; Freud has _never_ sounded convincing to me, while at my most idealistic I “caught the vibe” of Marxism (though even then, the rational and cynical part of me always knew things could never really work this way). **7. PC or Mac** I’m using a PC now, and have put them together from scratch, and have never used a Mac, so PC I guess. **8. Islam or Christianity** I am an atheist, but one with a lot of interest in human religion, and frankly I find Islam a heck of a lot more logically consistent. The hand-waving about the Trinity within a monotheistic framework, how Jesus could be born of Mary but still be eternal, the cannibalistic overtones of “eat, for this is my body; drink, for this is my blood” is just weird. Plus the canonical Scriptures were all written decades after Christ died and which to choose as canon was only decided (and even then not universally agreed upon) after _hundreds_ of years. On the other hand, the profession of faith for Islam (_There is no God but the One God, and Muhammed is his Prophet_) sets the framework up for the entire religion. And the Koran has no issues of translation or argument over canon – Muhammed wrote it down, in Arabic, exactly as it was dictated to him divinely _in Arabic_, and that’s that. **9. Homer Simpson or Hank Hill** Homer. I quote Homer Simpson all the time. Although I do like the show _King of the Hill_, I cannot ever recall quoting Hank Hill. **10. Electric Blue and Black or Hot Pink and Lemon Yellow** Blue and black are way cool together. Pink and yellow are… poofy? (Can I say that on the SDMB?) **11. Elton John or Billy Joel** I’ll take good ol’ BJ any day. **12. Eric Clapton or Jimmy Hendrix** Assuming you mean “Jimi”, it’s Jimi. Clapton is fine but IMHO, nothing he’s done can touch the sublime end-to-end perfection of _Electric Ladyland_. **13. Heinz or Hunts** Heinz, mostly out of brand loyalty as I never see Hunts in use anywhere. **18. Cat or Dog** I’m definitely a cat person.
