I’m no handwriting expert either, but I can see some pronounced differences in the two signatures. Notice how the line connecting the H to the B goes down to the baseline in the UK signature before going up to form the backbone of the B, while the one in the Repair Shop document comes straight off the crossbar of the H, such that the B has no backbone. Additionally, the B on the Repair Shop document extends well below the baseline, while in the UK document, it’s pretty much on the baseline.
Then we get to the last item. The Repair Shop document has a large, curvy, figure like a lower-case E. The UK document has a sharply-pronounced something, that seems to have a lot of detail to it, but the final tail doesn’t loop over itself, as the Repair Shop’s does.
Like I said, I’m no handwriting expert, but even my amateur eyes can see something wrong here.
I did like one of the comments in your link:
Looks like somebody else is having trouble believing this story.
There’s also this story, which points out that the g-mail circle avatar on the e-mail from the Ukrainian (whose initials are "VP) is fuzzy and cut off on one side, while the text of the e-mail is crisp. They suggest that means a cut and past job.
As well, the two e-mails that have been released don’t have meta-data, which is another sign of forgery.
Trump must have some very incriminating pictures of a naked Giuliani with a tethered goat to get him to manufacture such obviously fake evidence in this little distraction scam. If this turns out to be manufactured scandal to influence the election – I would forgive Biden for not taking the high road and prosecuting Giuliani to the fullest extent for going after his kid. Rudy will panic and implicate Trump at the first sign of trouble in this voters opinion.
The child pictures was debunked by the shopowner who explicitly said he did not see anything of that sort on the laptop. Which is important because he could not explicitly say it was Hunter Biden who he recognized as the customer in his shop.
Furthermore what did come out along those lines … is a newly released photo of Donald Trump with Jeffrey Epstein.
My modest proposal, made early this cycle, was that both campaigns be required to post a, say, $2 million bond, held in escrow by the Commission on Presidential Debates. For every second a candidate spends interrupting his opponent, $100,000 will be donated to the other candidate’s campaign fund. Any surplus is returned to the respective campaigns.
In the alternative, for every second you interrupt, five extra seconds are awarded to the other candidate for his closing remarks and deducted from your own time.
I am very similarly situated as you, wishing the data offered me more clarity and assurance than it does. But I’m not sure what the benefit will be of spending countless hours trying to master the statistics that I hated in college and grad school.
I guess delving into the polls is “something to do.” But my personal approach is to just have a general hope that most signs look good, and try to distract myself from the upcoming election as much as possible.
And re: the signatures, I’m not sure how much anyone (at least, a non-professional graphologist) could claim the same person did not sign both. Do none of you sign your names quite differently in different situations? Say - if you are signing an important legal document (not a real estate closing in which you sign your name 100 or so times) compare to on a credit card slip?
He has the curse of the sloppy signature. His verified signature is not overly clear, but it seems to have his 3 initials, followed by a motion that could represent “den.”
The main difference I see is that the repair slip signature appears more “loopy”, and the other more angular. But you can still see the 3 initials. Sometimes when I scrawl my name quickly, I sorta wonder at how little it actually resembles what I would expect compared to my intentional signature.
About that, Republican pollster Frank Luntz (With the fame of helping the Republicans take control of congress in the past) lets Trump and his campaigners have it:
Luntz argued that “nobody cares about Hunter Biden ,” who is currently at the center of a controversy over contents on his laptop, noting, “Hunter Biden does not help put food on the table. Hunter Biden does not help anyone get a job. Hunter Biden does not provide health care or solve COVID. And Donald Trump spends all of his time focused on that and nobody cares.”
In all honesty, when I wake in cold sweats at 2:30 in the morning some comforting numbers help me calm down and get back to sleep because the calamity will likely be avoided.
I was sincerely confident last weekend (10th & 11th), but then started hearing about “just like the 2016 race” about the 15th and 16th and there was no new information, no polls being released over the weekend of the 17th &18th. I admit it, I panicked.
First it sounds like it is slamming Trump’s team for a misguided focus, and it does. It also states as a matter of fact that the e-mails are from Hunter Biden’s laptop which is FAR from established. Trump supporters eat this kind of shit up with a spoon and Luntz just declared it true . . . but non-urgent.
Second, the teaser headline second from the top is too stupid to be in any respectable source of information. Pat Robertson says God told him Trump was going to win reelection (and the easily fooled evangelicals shout Hooray!) but that it will usher in unrest and the apocalypse??? (Not so much hooray as oh shit!) Since when is anything pat Robertson says news? Is this the news source for Narnia?
Last point, Trump aides are feeling hopeless but Trump believes “he never had a better chance of winning”. I suppose Putin must have assured him the fix was in and THAT is why Trump is not rattled and running scared.
Sorry you are so distressed. I hope you experience relief in just under 2 weeks.
Walking the dog this a.m., I saw a yard sign, “TRUMP - make liberals cry again.” While I can understand that someone in my neighborhood might actually FEEL such a sentiment, it is unfortunate that they feel a need to advertise it, intending to cause their neighbors and passersby discomfort. Fucking assholes.
I ran across someone wearing a shirt with that slogan and it really makes me wonder what world they think they live in. I don’t personally know any liberals who want conservatives to suffer or cry. I just don’t understand the mindset of someone who is performing an action with the intent of making anyone cry, let alone a whole group of individuals. When Trump, Melania, and Barron all contracted COVID-19, I wasn’t surprised, but I didn’t wish that on them and I wanted them to recover, because COVID-19 is serious business. I don’t want anyone, including the person wearing that shirt to get COVID-19, to lose their job, to have their business suffer. I want things to get better for all of us, not watch people get torn down, regardless of what we agree and disagree on.
That expressed sentiment, “make liberals cry again” is what depresses me about this election, because if Trump does win, it just validates even further a view that divides the country into “us versus them”, with it being even more normalized to express delight in someone else’s suffering, so long as they don’t belong to “us”.
3+ years ago, I passed a guy in a local park wearing a t-shirt saying, “FUCK TRUMP, and if you voted for him, FUCK YOU TOO!” While I heartedly agreed with the sentiment, I thought the public airing undesirably unpleasant. Who’da thought I was such an old prude?!
I comfort myself with the thought that people like this really don’t have anything of substance to contribute - this is all they have left. In their little shriveled pea brains, through all of their perceived greivences and pain, all they can muster is the sense that they have one up on some strawman enemy. Pathetic, yah?
Not precisely addressing the presidential race, but good news that is sure to be an indicator for it. Always happy to read articles like that one which claims to have inside information. It sounds credible to me, I believe it.
Fortunately I am breathing a bit deeper, and sleeping a bit sounder again this week. Now that there is some new news, and Trump is behaving like himself, I am feeling a lot less like it is “too quiet out there”. As long as President Barney Fife continues to shoot himself in the foot (especially with 60 minutes) I feel better. Thank you.
Unfortunately I am distantly related to some of those Trump supporters. I hope they are mostly in very red states where they can’t stop a blue shift flip here in Arizona. The friends and family here are more composed and reasonable (at least the ones I am in touch with on occasion). They still believe Trump is god’s anointed choice (apparently god has abandoned his position on morality and righteousness), but they are civil about it.
As you say, in two weeks we may be on our way to a much more civil nation again. I have much greater confidence that Biden/Harris as well of those of us who support them will stay closer to the high road. Thank you.
Early in the Trump administration I was having lunch with a Pastor friend of mine who had done (and continues to do) a good deal of work to help my troubled nephew. We discussed a number of local, innocent things when the presidential election came up. Without pausing to think I said: “Anyone who voted for Trump – and especially anyone who helped his campaign is an idiot and…”
It wasn’t until then that I realized that this good man, and almost certainly a majority of the congregation which had done so much for our family were Trump supporters. People are more complex than their political leanings and I had apologies to make. Like you I have a view (not quite as strong as F.U., but one) that needs to be expressed in a decent and polite manner or I become as much of a hypocrite as they are and that is something to avoid. (I was even uncomfortable typing ‘them’ - it smacks of 'those people to me.) Holding the high road will be what makes accomplishing good things possible; we must live up to our own hype. Let us unite!
Probably a healthier approach than my wife yelling, “Fuck you, assholes!” at their darkened house!
Oh yeah - to complete the scene, the house in question is on the corner, directly across the street from an elementary school, where many students pass daily. Nice!
