What color cars or trucks have you owned? If it had a two tone paint job you can pick two colors, but if it was mostly one color with some stripes or something lust pick the main color. Only pick the “multicolored” option if it was something really wild, like [this](https://www.thedrive.com/news/38797/vw-made-a-new-harlequin-car-to-brighten-up-everyones-2021). If it was an “in between” color like say teal just pick whatever option you think is closest. Only use the “other” option if it was truly some color that isn’t even close to any of the options. _Poll ([view on site](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/polls-only-no-discussion/953642/2167))_ ---

It’s the spookiest time of the year, and you might need to sit down because I’m about to say something many of you will find sacrilegious: horror and scifi movies from the late 60s through about 1981 kind of _suck_. I watched several, but oh god, they were so terrible I stopped. Long before I got to several so-called classics, actually. But for you I’ll try to keep an open mind and make a minimal effort (i.e. if I can find it on streaming). Which of these movies that I’ve never seen should I give a shot? You only get to pick one, so make it count. Oh, and bear in mind, while I haven’t seen these movies, it doesn’t mean I don’t know what they’re basically about. Some I’ve read the book, some I’ve seen updated takes on them in the forms of remakes or prequels, sequels or a TV show spin-off. As for the others…well, after 45 years of marinating in US culture it’s hard not to have heard about many of them. _Poll ([view on site](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/polls-only-no-discussion/953642/2181))_ ---

One of the things that makes fast food fast is that they will often simply hand you an item that’s already been cooked, so don’t have to wait while they cook your food. In-N-Out does not do that; if you go there you will always get a burger fresh off the grill, which means you’ll always wait longer there than you would at say McDonald’s. But that’s also one of the things that makes In-N-Out’s burgers higher quality than other places. But In-N-Out has all the other elements of a fast food restaurant: a drive thru, fiberglass booths, counter service, a simple menu, etc., so people generally consider them to be fast food. So based on that description, do you think In-N-Out is truly a fast food restaurant? _Poll ([view on site](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/polls-only-no-discussion/953642/2184))_ ---
