A billion’s easy. You’d still have way more left than you need to live on for the rest of your life. Let’s make it a million: even half’s still a great deal of money, but probably not enough to make you confident that you won’t wind up in need. OK, I have been a Pepsi drinker for lo these many years and my New Years resolution for 2022 was to lose weight (which I have been doing). You are sitting in an airliner, pre-takeoff, when the flight attendants announce a wacky gimmick - any volunteer passenger who can stand up in the aisle and perform all the safety briefing acts flawlessly from memory, **without** the attendants demonstrating (how to use and inflate life vest, how to fasten the seat belt, the use of oxygen masks, where the exits are, brace position, etc.) will get a $500 voucher. You’ve decided to buy that thing that’s 40% off, and the place you want to buy it from says if you order by midnight it’ll be delivered on Saturday. This item turns out to be heavy (at least 70lbs) in a huge box (say a box no smaller than 3’x5’). And for Saturday they’re predicting with near certainty there will be terrible weather, either a tropical storm or a snowy/icy Nor’easter.
