You are at a restaurant and the server brings you the wrong food. Turns out there was a miscommunication and the kitchen cooked the wrong dish. The manager and staff discuss briefly and then apologize and offer you a choice: you can either eat the wrong dish, free of charge, now, or you can have the dish that you ordered, also free. You had ordered something that takes a long time to cook, so it’ll take 20 minutes or more to get you what you’d originally ordered, especially since the restaurant is operating at max capacity with the chefs all fully occupied. _Poll ([view on site](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/polls-only-no-discussion/953642/3084))_ ---
