Note: Don’t over think the answers to this. Its just about personal preferences and your concern shouldn’t be about the methods or ramifications of how the Genii makes it happen. Question 1: A Djinn comes up and says that you can pick the next president of the United States and he will make it happen, but fortunately or unfortunately the way the spell works it has to be a Republican. Whom do you choose _Poll ([view on site](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/polls-only-no-discussion/953642/3715))_ Question 2: The Djinn is rethinking things and decides that maybe this wasn’t such a good idea. So he gives you the option of canceling the spell and just letting nature take its course. What do you decide? _Poll ([view on site](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/polls-only-no-discussion/953642/3715))_ ---

You are a judge. A surgeon has just been convicted of some serious felony - arson, large-scale embezzlement, something of the sort. Normally, you’d give such a defendant a stiff prison sentence. But in this instance, the doctor works in a particularly niche field and the entire nation has only a few surgeons who know how to perform this sort of operation, and there is a backlog of thousands of patients who need this surgery. _Poll ([view on site](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/polls-only-no-discussion/953642/3720))_ ---
