Imagine you and your siblings inherit a share in a complicated real estate-development-finacial-thing, that has other investors and is managed by a bank. The “big cashout” is in 6 years and meanwhile, you will be paying taxes on the interest. The “pain in the ass quotient” (P.I.T.A.Q. © ™) is very high. You will need to correspond with the bank often. Your taxes will be higher and very complicated going forward until after the “big cashout.” You will have to hire a good tax lawyer to create a separate thing, that gets its own tax ID, just for this, You will also have to hire a good and therefore expensive accountant to handle the taxes and other red tape. You could sell out to get out of it but it would be for pennies on the dollar. What amount would the “big cashout” (divided amongst you and your living siblings) have to be to make the P.I.T.A.Q. © ™ worth it to you? _Poll ([view on site](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/polls-only-no-discussion/953642/4510))_ ---

The wealthy prankster is back with another offer. This time they dare you to dye your hair bright blue for a whole year. Here are the conditions: - You must maintain a hairstyle that’s at least half an inch long. - If you’ve got a beard or moustache, it too must be dyed bright blue. - If you’re bald or significantly balding, you must grow a full beard or moustache and dye it blue, or else wear a bright blue wig or toupee. - Except when absolutely required for weather or safety reasons, you cannot wear a hat, headscarf, or other head covering that obscures most or all of your hair. - You must live your life more or less as it currently is, which means continuing to leave your home for whatever reasons you normally do (e.g., to work, shop, socialize, etc.). - The only explanation you are allowed to offer about your hair is that you want it that way. - The prankster will pay all reasonable costs associated with the upkeep of your new hairstyle. What’s the minimum amount of money the prankster would have to offer for you to agree to this? _Poll ([view on site](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/polls-only-no-discussion/953642/4520))_ ---
