You have two presidential candidates to choose from. We spend about one-third of our life sleeping; for most adults this roughly corresponds to a cycle of a 16-hour period awake followed by an 8-hour period asleep. A mischievous genie obliges you to permanently change the length of your own cycle, but not the relative proportion of wake–sleep periods in it. Which new cycle do you select for yourself?
