You are a homeowner and you want to hang Christmas lights along the front of your home. You purchase a set. You have to manually screw in every light bulb - the large, old-school type - into its socket yourself. You do so, alternating colors: red, white, green, orange, blue, red, white, etc. After this prep, you go outside, grab your ladder, ascend, and start attaching the string to the gutter. About halfway through, something catches your eye. You realized that, in one section, your color pattern is out of order. Correcting this would require changing socket position of about 20 bulbs. Do you swap the bulbs so they are in the proper order, or leave as is? _Poll ([view on site](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/polls-only-no-discussion/953642/6371))_ ---

(A video that is being highly watched in China right now): You are in a parking lot when you suddenly spot, very far off, a car that looks a lot like your spouse’s, and it looks like your spouse may be talking to someone who looks like an affair partner. The two of them are standing outside the car. It’s far enough that you can’t be sure - might even be mistaking for someone else - but it does look like what’s going on. What do you do? _Poll ([view on site](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/polls-only-no-discussion/953642/6373))_ ---

Given Donald Trump’s past and current attempts to subvert democracy, there’s a strong possibility that he’ll at least attempt to cancel, rig, or otherwise interfere in 2026’s midterm elections. With that in mind, do you think it’s a worthwhile use of time and resources to vote and/or participate significantly in other election related activities (e.g. political donations, volunteering, voter drives, etc.) in and leading up to November 2026? _Poll ([view on site](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/polls-only-no-discussion/953642/6376))_ ---
