I am reading Mark Lewisohn’s _Tune In_, an exhaustively researched book on The Beatles, covering the period from around 1820-1962, with the release of _Love Me Do_. (1820 is not a typo.) Released in 2013, the original plan was to release vol 2 around 2018-2020 (accounts vary) and the final volume in 2028, when the author turns 70. However… He hasn’t released vol 2 yet. He may never release it. And I’m 200 pages in on an 800 page book (which may be 2,400 pages, when all is said and done). Should I bother to finish it? You meet someone new whom you like and generally vibe well with. After getting to know them, they confess that they used to be regressively prejudiced against a particular demographic (e.g. racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic, etc) you are not a part of. They admit hurting others in that demographic, though never physically. This person is deeply remorseful and is genuinely trying to acknowledge their own guilt, change, and make amends—let’s say you know for a fact that this is true and sincere. Do you believe it (should) reflect poorly on you and your own views on the demographic in question if you continue to like and associate with this person? _Poll ([view on site](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/polls-only-no-discussion/953642/6745))_ ---
