(Based off of a real life story) You are a transplant doctor at a hospital. A kid is in dire need of a kidney. Her family and relatives all come by to do compatibility testing, one by one, in the hospital, to see if they are matching donors. Her compatibility is a very rare type, and it is highly likely she will die if she doesn’t get a transplant soon. After running the tests on everyone individually, the only person in the whole extended family who is found to be a match is her cousin. But he (the cousin) says to you behind closed doors, “I _really_ don’t want to donate a kidney. Problem is, if my relatives find out I’m a match, they’re going to put extreme pressure on me to say yes. Can you just lie to them and tell them I tested as incompatible?” _Poll ([view on site](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/polls-only-no-discussion/953642/6951))_ [Previous page](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/polls-only-no-discussion/953642.md?page=346) [Next page](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/polls-only-no-discussion/953642.md?page=348)
