Two magical buttons appear in front of every adult capable of pressing buttons. A disembodied voice says you have to press one of them, either - button 1: a button that will do nothing if greater than 50% of the people press it, or - button 2: a button that will kill every person that pressed button 1 if less than 50% of all the people pressed it, i.e. if greater than 50% of people press button 2, everyone who will press button 1 dies. You are not given any opportunity to discuss this situation with others.
