[Rex Heuermann](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/architect-59-arrested-as-prime-suspect-in-long-island-serial-killings/987046/63) pled guilty today to killing 8 women; there is no chance he will get out of prison before he leaves in a body bag. This poll is ‘inspired’ by others who have plead guilty to life in prison with no possibility of parole rather than go to trial & be subject to the death penalty if convicted. _Hypothetical:_ You killed someone, in premeditated cold blood, in a state that actively puts prisoners to death.
