PayPal amount remains at $2669.00 for **Polycarp** …and I sent a check today to him for the remaining amount that is being transferred to my checking account. So ALL PayPal contributions to him are now either in his hands or coming to him soon. Some contributions have come in for the OTHER person, too…so if this means YOU, they got here and will be transferred soon. I will get the mail contributions deposited to my checking account today and send him a check for THAT amount as well. Along with any notes or gifts that came. The mail amount remains at $560.00…although my mail isn’t HERE yet today, so that amount will not be valid for much longer, IMO. ---

I check MPSIMS once a fortnight or so. Every now and then this proves to be a mistake. It’s good to see you back **Poly**. It’s good too to be reminded of what a place this is and how remarkable and wonderful human spirit and love is. And I’m sure I speak for most folks when I say that personal thankyou notes are completely beyond the call of duty. Concentrate your efforts instead to what we all missed so much - your thoughtful and inspirational posts. It’s nice to know that we can all make a difference now and then and it gives us the warm fuzzies to realise it, but that isn’t really the point of all this, is it? The point was that help was needed and we were in a position to provide it. That’s all that matters and it was a simple enough to do. The best way to thank us is to be you. pan ---

An update… Our total now is $2814.00 PayPal $1005.00 mail I have now emailed everyone who contributed by PayPal and everyone who I have received a check from. If you have NOT heard from me, and you sent a check by mail OR contributed by PayPal, PLEASE EMAIL ME so I can figure out where your contribution got lost. Three people had their email (from PayPal) bounce…I have been able to contact one of them, but the other two I can’t identify. It would be a tremendous help to me if you would email me if you haven’t heard from me. One final note…this effort does NOT have an “end” date, nor does the other effort I am involved in. Please don’t feel that just because the bulk of the money has already come in that your contribution is either unwanted OR unecessary. In Polycarp’s situation, he still needs help regaining ground. In the other Doper’s situation, they still desperately need help. Thank you again for all your help, I believe very strongly in the basic goodness and generosity of people…but I never, not in a million years, thought that so many of you would give. Particularly since some of you gave when I know you didn’t have much to spare. You all have my gratitude, and my love. ---
