Why do we drive on streets and park in parking lots? Streets are designed to be driven on in order to get from place to place. Parking lots are areas that are specifically designated as places to park. ---

Imagine you had an aircraft that tried to take off from an oversized piece of exercise equipment. Would it work? In particular, could a helicopter take off from the seat of a humongous stationary bike? ---
