Right on Mr. OP! I was going to start a thread like this but decided I didn’t care that much that our culture is so damn infantile. I HATE THE TERM “POO” TOO! Please stop using that shitty term people. The only thing worse than “poo” is “South Park” which is utter scatophilic shit. It’s right up there with any Kevin Smith film in terms of childish deification of defication humor. ---

What the hell? How is “poop” any more sophisticated than “poo”? Just use the term FAECES and say, “I need to evacute my intestines of faeces” if it bothers you that fucking much. Jeez. ---

Re: baby words for defecation and faeces: My honorary grandson Brandon was about two and freshly toilet trained. One evening while we were visiting his (real) grandmother and he and his parents were there, he went into the bathroom to take care of necessities, came walking out with a very proud expression, and said, “I s’it!” Most of us kept from falling out of our chairs laughing, but it took some effort! 😃 ---

Poo, poop, caca, doody, number two, akipoo, etc. are ALL infantile euphemisms for a 100% universal natural function. I far prefer the more sophisticated terms like “pinch a loaf”, “cop a squat”, or “squeeze off a few rounds”. 😃 * * * Birdy, birdy, in the sky, Why’d you do that in my eye? I’m a big boy, I won’t cry, I’m just glad that cows can’t fly. ---

Dunno if it’s worth mentioning , but from this side of the pond, ‘poop’ sounds like the more infantile variant of ‘poo’. Just sayin’ ---

I thought this would be a complaint about how the name “Shithead” has been censored to “Poohead” in Cecil’s classic article about [the spelling of Mowamr Qwaddaffy.](http://www.straightdope.com/classics/a2_264b.html) I don’t like this change. Shithead conveys Kghahdhdhahfiness better than Poohead any day. Plus, on an alternative newspaper site that I’m paying money to support, where I can read much nastier in the forums, I’d like to get all the filth I can handle, thanks. But the OP is correct. “Poo” is lame, even compared to “poop.” And _South Park_ is a horrible show and you should be ashamed of yourself if you like it. [Rubs fingers together.] Shame, shame!
