> I graphed that table and it is really interesting! DC metro is the far and away highest (by $7K), then the next 12 go down moderately rapidly. Then there is this huge $4.5k jump between Baltimore and Atlanta. Then starting with Atlanta and going to the next 258 cities, it is a VERY gentle slope down. then the last 10 or so start dropping faster and bottoming out at Aguadilla Puerto Rico.

I graphed the Top 50 [here](https://imgur.com/a/quGomV3). That very slow decline continues for the next 200 cities.

It is wild to me how the top 13 stand out.

It’s funny that the four lowest outside Puerto Rico are all in Texas. And that the lowest metropolis over 1,000,000 is San Antonio, also in Texas.

Guess all those boasts about the people streaming in really mean that they couldn’t find anywhere poorer to go.

Interesting about Texas. And Hermitian, love the graph!

Speaking of Nashville: David Plotz said on the latest episode of the slate political gabfest that he would really like people to email him about cool stuff to do in the Nashville – Franklin area. Not the regular touristy stuff but “unusual spots and cool experiences”.
