How about when there’s two options on a menu. One is yellow, the other orange - which color is the highlighted option color? You just have to choose randomly, then half the time try to back out of the dumb “how to draw this character” or whatever and go back and choose the one you really wanted. Then try to remember which color is the highlight for next time. Also, I adore Firefly, but the DVD menu sucks. You have to navigate something like three layers of menus, each with animation and music, before you get to watch the episode. ---

Whoa! That’s a pretty powerful “resurrect thread” spell you have there TBG. I wondered why the hell I was being email to say a thread I’d subbed to had been replied to - that’s because it’s five years old. ---

What’s really annoying are any ads or previews at the beginning of the DVD that you cannot just bypass by pressing the SKIP/TAB button. You have to fast scan to get through them. And sometimes it’ll only let you fast scan until you reach the next ad or preview, then you have to press scan again. Aarrghh. ---

Does HBO think that the money you paid for purchasing one of their releases (like “Raymond” for instance) is never enough? Is that their rationale for hitting you with all those ads? Or could it be that they mistakenly believe that since you liked one of their releases (again, for instance, “Raymond”), you’ll like everything else they put out? ---

Hate hate hate DVD menus that are designed by the same people who think Web site menus are a good place to show off their Flash skills. If you’re movie is so cool that you need to share music and dialogue during menus, have at it … but don’t make me wait through it all before you bring up the choices and let me select something. ---

Again, you’re right-- I’ve seen the closing credits a few times, and there is a logo for “HBO Independent Productions.” That’s one more way that HBO had something to do with it (outside of releasing it on DVD). ---
