Okay, I realize this is very nearly a dumb question. (However, none of my friends knew the answer, obviously we are not attuned to pop culture.) I know that Jessica Simpson is famous and I know what she looks like. However, I do not know _why_ she is famous. Because she’s been on TV? A lot? Other than smiling and looking good, _what does she do_? I actually leafed through a bunch of magazines like _US_ and yes, I saw her picture. A lot. It just brought up more questions. (Like: people are actually marrying other people they meet on reality shows? It’s not like My Big Fat Obnoxious Fiancee–they are getting legally hitched, to someone they picked out of a group of . . . average joes, for instance? No, don’t answer this, I probably don’t wanna hear it. Just tell me why JS is famous.) ---

and, of the 4 young, hot blonde pop singers who hit at roughly the same time(Britney,Xtina,Willa Ford, and Simpson), she is the most talented singer. She also gained notoriety for being a virgin until marriage. ---

She’s a lower-level pop singer who married an ex-boyband-er, Nick Lachey from 98 Degrees. That was enough to get them a show on MTV, which multiplied her fame by tenfold, at least. ---

Did Jessica Simpson sing that song that ripped off “Jack & Diane”, or was that one of the other ones? I know it wasn’t one of the big 2 (Britney or Xtina). Not that I really care, mind you, but I only heard that song twice and always wondered who it was. ---
