For me, it’s the song _Breakaway_. Sure, its lyrics never get out of the “incredibly tired cliche” range, but that’s not Kelly’s fault. And she does what musicians are supposed to do: she sells me the song. Unlike 99% of the stuff I hear on the radio, I’m never sorry to hear it again. I certainly don’t think it belonged on VH1’s top 40 Awesomely Bad Songs of 2004 list (though I can understand why someone thought it did).

What’s your guilty-type pleasure?

I once heard Britney Spearseseses song _Toxic_ laid over Usher’s _Yeah Yeah_ piece of shit.

It was actually pretty fun to listen to. I guess two negatives really do make a positive.

I like Britney Spears and loads of hip hop music. I’m not ashamed to admit it.

In fact, most of the people I know whom I openly admit this to, don’t believe me, and think I only listen to it to annoy them.

I’ll second this one. I’m starting to like Kelly Clarkson. She does a good job with the music. Her voice isn’t half bad. She hasn’t tried to “reinvent” herself yet.

She may be pop, but I think she’s good pop.

I really like _Toxic_. One of my friends got really disappointed in me, and was saying, “I never would have pegged you as a Britney fan. It just goes to show…” I’m not a Britney fan, though, I just really really like that song. A couple months ago I heard a cover of it by Local H, and that was damn good too.

_Super Milk Chan_

I feel especially bad, because I’m pretty sure it’s just a vehicle for some fiendish subliminal programing that’s going to turn me into a zombie slave, or something. :smack:

I think \*\*Justin Timberlake’s \*\* got some chops. I’ve noticed \*\*Amy Grant \*\* is actually a pretty sophisticated songwriter (the wife’s a fan…and a confirmed atheist. Figure that one out). **The Wiggles \*\* can craft a catchy tune. \*\* John Denver** is criminally underrated as an artist. I think the kids’ show **Arthur** is funny on my own level. Yeah that’s right, I watch it \*at work \* and laugh at the antics of Arthur, Buster, Francine and Binky.
