Diesel - Sausolito Summernight
This was a hit not long before New Wave took off in the early 1980s. Didn’t crack the Billboard top 10 (peaked at 11 or 12 I think). I still have the vinyl LP. I love the intro riff and the lyrics are hilarious.
When looking this up, I learned that, sadly, the drummer and bassist recently passed away.

I wonder if anyone remember’s Kon Kan’s 1988-9 single “I Beg Your Pardon.” I was in 8th grade at the time, and really loved that song for some reason. It reached #15 on Billboard’s Hot 100 and #1 Hot Dance Music/Maxi-Singles sales. But I swear I seem to be the only person who has any memory of that song.
Fond memories down here, largely because it was a Mardi Gras parade staple for a few years after “I Beg Your Pardon” was on the charts.

This is Ponderous by 2Nu
Popular when I was in High school, if only because the pop station would only play it late at night (no idea why).
I loved this song when it was out, but can’t seem to find ANYONE who remembers it.
Me! I remember the DJ discussing what “ponderous” meant.
This song always freaked me out a bit.
Rocky Burnette - Tired of Toein’ the Line
Alan Parsons Project - Damned if I Do
Jay Ferguson - Shakedown Cruise
Hubba Hubba Zoot Zoot by Caramba. WARNING: Excruciatingly contagious. (Ignore the first 5-10 seconds).
