That song is less than three minutes long. :dubious:

1. You type the words you want to become the link.

EX1: Good Riddance.

1. You highlight the word or words.

2. Click on the button that is represented by a small Earth with a chain (some sort of link) at the bottom.

3. Paste the URL into the box that pops up.

Result: [Good Riddance](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ClhNPb3mmpI).

As for In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida, I love listening to the full 17 minute version. It doesn’t drag on in my opinion. Sometimes it flows so smoothly from beginning to end that I listen to it more than once in a row. I love that song. Though I do have a three minute version that I listen to far more often.

(V.) To play an instrument aimlessly until, and usually long after, the audience gets bored.

I hate the drawn-out ending to **Hey Jude** , but until 10 years ago I didn’t know there were spoken bookends to _Nights in White Satin_, as usually the stations cut it off. I like the extended version of it better.

One of the greatest musicians of my lifetime - The Artist Currently Known As Prince. Great musician, but he just can’t end a song.
Don’t believe me? Just listen to “Little Red Corvette”. The first 2/3rds is one of the greatest songs written in my lifetime. Then it just goes on and on stinking up the lovely memory like old cheese after the party ended.

Yeah, it’s interesting how many of my favorite songs have been cited here… I like long songs, even repetitive ones if they establish a good groove. For example, I lllll… llllluhhh… OK, I’ll say it: I LOVE “ATLANTIS” BY DONOVAN, which I’m sure many people would consider a prime example of what this thread is all about.

But here is a song that actually lasts less than four minutes and yet every time I hear it I feel like it has been and will be playing forever: Eric Clapton’s version of “Cocaine”. I feel like it should be called “Novocain” because it’s so numbing. (And I like Eric, and I like J.J. Cale, who wrote it.)

In defence of dance music, the songs supposed to be long to keep people on the dance floor. Nice if there’s some sort of content, though.

My two nominations:

Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door- by anyone.

Light My Fire- the Doors

> Suzie Q by Creedence Clearwater Revival. That same guitar riff over and over and over and the hook said fifty thousand times, “Oh Suzie Q, baby I love you, Suzie Q.” zzzzz…

Excellent choice. Someone must have made Fogerty see the error of his ways, since he seems to have kept down to under four minutes after this.

Most of Satanic Majesties by the Stones counts, including the electronic parts which are too long at 15 seconds. No Mick, we don’t want to hear the band playing stoned for what sounds like 20 hours.

I love Cream, but I’m afraid that Jack Bruce isn’t nearly as inventive on the harp as he thinks he is. The live version of Rollin’ and Tumbin’ is saved for me only by turning up Clapton’s rhythm guitar. Traintime ain’t much better. Toad, on the other hand, is way too short. When the boxed set came out some reviewer complained that it was extended. I was terribly disappointed that the drum solo wasn’t, only the introduction.

This is my problem with a lot of Metallica’s songs. There are parts I like about most of the singles that I’ve heard, but there are a lot of parts I don’t care for. There’s the slow intro, the fast part, another slow part, a verse, chorus, guitar solo, verse, chorus, slow part, fast part, etc. I’m not the kind of person that thinks every song should be 3 verses, the chorus twice, and all in three minutes, but come on. I guess that’s the reason I like Whiskey in the Jar the best.

“I Need a Lover” John Mellencamp. The songs drags right from the start with the same chords repeated over and over for the 2 minutes and 30 seconds of the 5 minute song.

“Tiny Dancer,” by Elton John.

Song gets longer every time it plays. It simply will. Not. End. Oh, I hate it so much.

“Green Fields and High Tides Forever” by The Outlaws. The only “unknown to me” song I was introduced to by a Rock Band (or Guitar Hero) game that I came to hate. Admittedly, this is partly due to my own pseudo-drumming limitations. Eventually I got tired of trying to complete this long-ass song I didn’t even like and gave up the game and all its clones.
