And while you’re all enjoying your popcorn (however you choose to prepare it), play the Popcorn Game[sup]tm[/sup]. It’s fun, and it makes you feel superior to many famous people throughout history.

The object of the game is to diss accomplished people who never had the chance to eat popcorn, e.g. Alexander the Great.

Ah, Alexander. Conquered the known world while still a young man. An amazing warrior, one of the greatest leaders the world has ever known. But he never got to eat popcorn. (put a handful of popcorn in your mouth and savor the fact that Alexander the Great, for all his accomplishments, never got to taste what you’re tasting now)

I’ve found that the [Whirly-Pop](http://www.popcornpopper.com/24000.html) is the best damn thing for making popcorn, unless of course you buy a movie-popcorn contraption. Vastly superior to using a plain pot. Almost every kernel pops every single time, and it never burns. I hardly ever use it anymore since I don’t eat a lot of carby food, but every so often I get a craving for it.

Although I’m no big fan of microwave popcorn (it’s good in a pinch, but not as good as a real popper), I will admit that the microwave kettle corn I’ve tried has been pretty good. It’s not quite the same texture, but the sugar/salt taste is definitely there.

Kettle corn fans might want to give them a shot.

Does a dozen and a half translate to 18, or is the recipe so critical that I really need to cut a marshmallow in half? I won’t bother to bust your chops asking where I can get a miscowave.

I make my own microwave popcorn, just put plain popcorn in a paper (lunch) bag, fold over well to seal, and nuke until done (3:23 for my microwave). Drizzle your favorite oil on it so the salt will stick, shake, then salt, then shake again. So much better than store bought microwave popcorn.
