Conundrum: My grade school BFF thinks we’re still BFFs. We started drifting apart in HS, and by 1980 no longer spoke. Then in the 90s, when our class was starting to play the 20th reunion, we reconnected. Except I had changed a lot, and she was still in full punk mode. We’re FB-friends, but that’s it. We’ve spoken once on the phone in the last 20 years. I keep hearing William Hurt saying (from The Big Chill) “Wrong! A long time ago we knew each other for a short time!” every time she claims we’re still close. I don’t want to piss her off (I don’t know what she’s capable of) but I also don’t want her hanging on to this delusion. Any suggestions? eta - it’s not that I want to cut off contact with her, she is part of my past and helped make me who I am today, but I don’t want her thinking she can drop by next time she’s on LI ---

Howdy Y’all! Been a bzzy mornin’ at irk, which is a good thing. I mean, if’n I got to be here might as well be doin’ stuff. Anywho, after a biiiiiiiiiig brekkie this mornin’ I only et half of my ham, turkey, 'n cheese sammich for N.O.L. So I have half a sammich should I want a snack later. Win-Win! **spaz** I have long felt that the makers of tp were doin’ this. Then again, like **MOOOOOOM** said, lots of that is happenin’ these days. All the more reason to stay stocked up people! **MOOOOOOM** a certain _somebody_, who shall remain nameless, has been not to subtly droppin’ hints for chawklit chip pee-kahn cookies. Not so subtle meanin’ he said, and I quote, “Do I need to go buy some chawklit chips and pee-kahns in case you don’t have any?” Slick! 😃 Maybe I will make some this weekend. Mayo is mayo IMO. I but what’s on sale when I need mayo. You name brand loyalists may now declare me to be a heretic. 😛 ---

rosie, other than FB do you have contact with former BFF? If no, then keep it that way. Don’t initiate any contact. Reply politely but distantly when she emails or FBs. I’m assuming she doesn’t call. ---

In just a few minutes I have to go to one of my local places to meet with someone for a bit. I foresee twuck pointin’ toward da cave right after that. **rosie** that’s always a tough situation. We all have people like that in our lives. Maybe if she does hint to come visit, offer to meet her somewhere for lunch or dinner so you can keep it neutral. Maybe that way you can keep her on the casual friend basis and also limit the amount of time you spend with her. You can always have somewhere you _just have to be_ right after lunch or dinner. That will also be true. After all, we all know Smokey will be expectin’ you home post haste. 😃 ---

Took a much needed nap after N.O.L. so now my stomach hurts from sleeping on a full tummy. I couldn’t decide if I wanted to eat or sleep first, guess I should have slept. I’m trying to get myself on a meal schedule. I have a bad habit of getting busy and not eating and by the time I realize how hungry I am I’m shaky and feeling sick. Then I’ll grab some crackers or pretzels which do no good at all. **Rosie** Maybe in her eyes you are still close in that nostalgic _when we get together we can pick up like we were never apart way_. I have old friends who will make a friend request and for a day or two we message back and forth and then never again. I like hearing from past friends but I barely have enough time for my now friends. ---
