What is the birth rate vs the death rate? How many people are born per minute and how many die per minute world wide? Are these statistics broken down by countries and races as well? ---

Welcome to the SDMB, bobrien. CIA World Factbook, my friend. CIA World Factbook. [http://www.cia.gov/cia/publications/factbook/index.html](http://www.cia.gov/cia/publications/factbook/index.html) That will break down all kinda of crazy information about every country, including birth/death rates (usually done by events/1000 population, from the entire year), infant mortality rates, immigration rates, age structure, sex ratio, fertility rate, life expectancy, and 500 other useful factoids. World wide, you want [http://www.cia.gov/cia/publications/factbook/geos/xx.html](http://www.cia.gov/cia/publications/factbook/geos/xx.html) > [@](#): > > Population growth rate: > 1.23% (2002 est.) > Birth rate: > 21.16 births/1,000 population (2002 est.) > Death rate: > 8.93 deaths/1,000 population (2002 est.) If you want to divide that up to per minute, go ahead, but it is your math. Did you know that Moldova had 2,200 mobile cellular phones (as of 1997)? Now you do, and knowing is half the battle.
