Porn Pop-Ups --- How do I stop them

FYI, Mozilla 1.5 was released today.

Ok rather than inundate this board with questions I’ll register to a Firebird forum. Is Mozillazine the best one? I’m already getting “connection timed out” in everything I do that has to do with Mozilla. I also couldn’t install Flash even though it was allegedly designed for Firebird because FB didn’t recognize it. I checked out the Tabbed Browsing Extension site and already saw posts saying various things didn’t work in the new version. Is taking on Firebird a potential nightmare in things not working anymore with every new version because of the nature of it’s development? I already love the tabbed browsing but I can tell the typical user is a little more advanced than me: The tips and tricks section were changes to the source code. Oh yeah, I’ll be doing that soon.

Post timed out edit: I can see that the time that FB gives to load a page is much shorter than IE and then puts up a dialogue box rather than just dies a “Page not Displayed” death. Is there a way to increase the time and kill the box?

Mozilla.org is slashdotted. No point trying to get to it today, I’m afraid.

Check out the Plug-in FAQ (there’s a button for it on your toolbar). This explains how to install plugins such as Flash. Some extensions won’t work in the new version but just use the current ones for 0.6.1.

The Tips and Tricks stuff: it’s not the source code. It just asks you to add stuff to .css files. They’re just text files; copy & paste the bits you want into them.

Dunno about the timeout; I’ve got used to the way it works on Firebird.

At the risk of having this thread blossom into it’s own board, why is this such big news for those probably already in the know about mozilla?

Another vote for the google toolbar. I have 1780 blocked since late August of this year. The ONLY popup I still get is those that slide from the left, if you know what I mean. Not so much a popup as part of the page, perhaps.
