Porn

Here is CNBC’s Melissa Lee in her report on Porn: The Business of Pleasure. It’s sort of laughable not only because it’s fairly lightweight, but because she starts the report in a bright red trenchcoat. I sort of expected her to take it off revealing lingerie underneath.

ok well thanks for clearing up the money issue a bit. I can see how fetish and certain actors can bring in more money than just the casual free-porn viewer like myself. I’m still perplexed about the girls who are doing it though. I have some preconceived notions about the type of girls who do it as well. Correct me if I’m wrong but when I think of a female porn star I think of:

  1. A girl from a broken family
  2. A girl on drugs.
  3. A sex fanatic/freak/addict.
  4. A smart girl using what she got for the money.

More often than not, I think #4 is the least likely, because there’s much different ways to go about making that money without the stigma and prejudice one might face.

For instance, dopers, what would you think if you found out your SO did porn? or your daughter? or just a family/friend?

Personally, I think it would bug me quite a bit, and I think it would a lot of other people too. I think I could probably get over it a little faster than others but it would still mess with me.

By the same token, my brother was dating a porn star, & my late Mother refused to meet her, or have her in the house.

So, some stigma still there.

I thought it was weird to see my ex’s business website and see him in a commercial… You’ve got me beat.
