That’s a false equivalence. “Punishing” someone by requiring them to follow the same restrictions every other person follows isn’t a punishment. Are we currently punishing folks who want to use heroin by not allowing them to use heroin? But even if it were a punishment, stipulating that, folks in favor of gun control want to punish people by commandeering part of their property. That’s still not equivalent to punishing someone by killing them. Whatever other arguments there are against gun control–and my time on this board has convinced me that there are some decent arguments against many forms of gun control–this argument won’t hunt. ---

Me, I wonder why shooting some guy who hopped over a fence is positive news. There are times when lethal self-defense is warranted. This is not one of them. ---

A pastor of my acquaintance, who carries a .38, explained to me that he has the authority “to preach, to teach, to marry, and to bury.” Sounds like brick-boy ran into just such a pastor. ---

The lead ammo item is a bit more complicated, but this is a good thing since a ban on lead ammo combined with armor piercing restrictions was seen as a possible avenue to ban large amounts of ammo.
