Didn’t see this one in this thread. Seattle area. Sunday March 13, 2016 Hatchet wielding suspect entered a 7-11 and swung at a customer and the clerk, wounding the clerk. A regular customer with a concealed carry permit was in for his morning coffee and saw the assault. Customer shot the hatchet man. Wonder why the resident seems to have left the scene? That was the implication I got. Bad guys robbing bad guys? Still a good shoot IMO. If the resident is a bad guy, this shooting should not add to his trouble. IMO ---

It sounds in most of these reports that the police take your gun if you shoot someone. What if someone’s father or brother comes back looking for you? ---

Inside the house or out isn’t the controlling factor. Reasonable fear of great bodily harm is the controlling factor. This can occur if an assailant is either inside or outside. If an assailant is forcibly inside, then most states have a presumption of reasonable fear of great bodily harm.
