And the food is decently-priced. Taking the Metro to Georgetown is not really a good idea, unless you like to walk. The closest stop is Foggy Bottom; exit walking north up 23rd until you reach the circle and then continue left onto M. 18.00 sounds good. ---

Thank you all for meeting us at Garrett’s for dinner Saturday night. We had a great time. I think. 🙂 Here’s the complete story, in all its sobriety (unlike the version you heard Saturday): I believe I mentioned that Garrett’s used to be my hangout bar. It’s dark, smoky, and has that “hole-in-the-wall” feel that keeps it pretty much a local place, except during Georgetown weekend nights. Well, my girlfriend (who says ‘hi,’ by the way) and I walked in at about 4PM, after a hot day of walking around. As soon as we entered, the bartender recognized me from several years ago, and started giving us free drinks. LOTS of free drinks. We toasted everything under the sun twice. We were getting complimentary beers, shots, and whiskey out the wazoo. This went on until it was time to meet you guys at 6. Now, I know I didn’t HAVE to drink everything he handed me, but it felt good to be remembered. Sooooo…one drink led to another, and pretty soon, we were sheets to the wind. I apologize for any “drunk talk” we might have engaged in, and for any foolish statements or behavior we might have displayed while under the influence. Anyhow, it was a pleasure to meet all of you, and I hope we can do it again sometime. ---
