I did a similar thread about 2 months ago, and still don’t have names picked out. Here’s the deal, due date 21 Jan 2005. Discussed with the OB today about a c section since thing 2 is bigger and in breech position (and has not room to turn around :eek: ). OB agreed we can schedule around 6 Jan if they haven’t come by then. Anyhoo, still looking for names for those we call Thing 1 and Thing 2 right now. All three girls will have a complete chinese name as their middle name (eldest is Caoyutian); family name starts with an “S”; and first daugher is Jacqueline. Some possible candidates are: Audrey Iris Angela Gloria Some general guidelines: -no cutesy twin names -none of those “you named your kid what?!?” names -standard spelling -prefer classic names -I like names that also have a nickname -avoid really popular names (I had three other boys with my name in the same class in grade school) -avoid trendy names There were some earlier suggestions I really liked such as Penelope that my wife hated. Anyhoo, welcome your suggestions. ---

I love your guidelines and if I ever have children, I’m going to steal them for personal use. I also like the four names you mentioned. Another guideline of my own is that I like names within a family to both start and end with a different sound, so I would like “Jacqueline, Audrey, and Gloria” much better than “Jacqueline, Audrey, and Angela” or “Jacqueline, Gloria, and Angela.” Some other names I like: Lydia Margaret Celeste Pamela Cynthia Dorothy Maris Agatha Marjorie Eloise ---

Two cautions from twins I have known: Don’t pick two names that sound nearly the same. The kids will always claim they thought you were calling the other twin. Don’t use names that have the same initials. If you do, their school records and, later, their tax records will get mixed up. ---
