If they have to have guns mark the ammo, they would all need new guns by ’07. I can’t imagine what that would cost. How many police are in CA?
The serial number bill. Estimates are an increase in training costs of $2.5 million just in increased ammo costs. I don’t even want to think about how much it will cost to re-arm every cop in California. $100 million? $200 million? Who knows? And the local cops will want this paid for by the state, since it is their rule. I’m thinking this is never going to fly on the Assembly floor. Around here, all you have to do is mention the Budget an things get right tense.
