I don’t have a link, but since we’re sharing something beautiful…
I watched a YouTube interview of Ringo Starr about when George was dying of throat cancer. Ringo went to see his bedridden friend and during their visit he couldn’t help but bring up that he’d just found out his own daughter had cancer. He was distraught because he didn’t know what to say to her, but he needed to go see her. And George reached out and took his hand and said “Do you want me to go with you?”
As far as cars go, I’ve always felt that the Le Mans prototypes from the 60’s were the sexiest. They kind of understood aerodynamics, but not really as it applied to cars. As a result, they usually lacked wings and ground effects, and were just sleek as hell.
I suppose it is a matter of personal taste. Your Talbot Lago looks a lot like a Bugatti 57c and 57SC, and I think the SC does a better job at the shape you like. But it is a matter of personal taste.
Damn, why can’t we have any cars that look like that any more? I realize that modern cars have a lot of advantages, but surely we could put a modern engine inside a body like that?
I love cathedrals too. When we went to Montreal we visited Notre Dame Basilica and it was quite possibly the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen. I didn’t take a single picture because it simply isn’t possible to capture how magnificent it was.
