Post a link to something beautiful. No arguing, no cheesecake, & no beefcake, please.

In the World Cup games are played for ninety minutes After the group stages there is a period of extra time (thirty minutes) if the score is equal.

If the scores are still equal the game goes to penalty kicks, And the Germans win.

I should have mentioned it was soccer…

Another soccer moment, maybe not beautiful but still gives me a lump in the throat:

Fabrice Muamba

Earthrise.

Sorry about that; it works for me. The jpg is a photo of Joi Lansing.

I don’t have a link, but since we’re sharing something beautiful…
I watched a YouTube interview of Ringo Starr about when George was dying of throat cancer. Ringo went to see his bedridden friend and during their visit he couldn’t help but bring up that he’d just found out his own daughter had cancer. He was distraught because he didn’t know what to say to her, but he needed to go see her. And George reached out and took his hand and said “Do you want me to go with you?”

That’s beautiful. Don’t feel bad that it’s not a link.

Nope. The sexist car ever made was built by the same manufacturer with coachwork by the same designer. But it wasn’t wimpy engined like an Auburn.

Here’s the link

It’s from Martin Scorcese’s Documentary on George and it definitely was a beautiful snapshot of George’s generosity of spirit.

Have you seen a Talbot Lago T150 ss?

Liquid car.

Alongside a Jaguar E-Type, it doesn’t get any better

As far as cars go, I’ve always felt that the Le Mans prototypes from the 60’s were the sexiest. They kind of understood aerodynamics, but not really as it applied to cars. As a result, they usually lacked wings and ground effects, and were just sleek as hell.

Here’s a nice photoof a ship docked at night at a city port …

Pretty sure that’s just the same picture flipped, rather than a reflection.

I suppose it is a matter of personal taste. Your Talbot Lago looks a lot like a Bugatti 57c and 57SC, and I think the SC does a better job at the shape you like. But it is a matter of personal taste.

Damn, why can’t we have any cars that look like that any more? I realize that modern cars have a lot of advantages, but surely we could put a modern engine inside a body like that?

I love cathedrals too. When we went to Montreal we visited Notre Dame Basilica and it was quite possibly the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen. I didn’t take a single picture because it simply isn’t possible to capture how magnificent it was.

Piper To The End

Pretty either way.

Silver Moonlight by John Atkinson Grimshaw, one of my favorite Victorian artists

If that styling is your thing, a Morgan Aero Supersport might be what you want to scrimp and save for.
