# Post Breakup Friendships?  How often does it happen?

I’ve got an ex-fiance that I"m friends with now. She knows things about me that noone else knows and she’s been the only person who I’ve ever been able to talk openly to. Luckily for me, she cares enough about me to let me spout to her. She knows I"d be an absolute mess if I couldn’t still talk to her.

I can, also, honestly say that I don’t want to be more than friends because I know it can’t work. So I guess I’m saying yah, it’s possible.

I’m friends with my ex-girlfriend. After we broke up, I never wanted to talk to her again, because it remineded me too much of what I lost. Of course, we were both really young (16 and 14) and both going through personal hardships, so being broken doesn’t seem like that much of a heartbreak in retrospect. One good thing about being friends with her is that she got me talking to my best friend again, whom I hadn’t talked to for 2 years because of a falling out during high school. However, it turned out she was also dating my friend at the time, which was hard for me to accept. She is friends with just about every guy she’s dated, and her birthdays would wind up being what we called ‘ex-boyfriend conventions’ these awkward ordeals in which we would meet guys who also dated and were dumped by her. Though I did become good friends with one of her ex-boyfriends. The whole thing is pretty wierd actually. 😛
